Reading Challenge

Reading is an essential skill for life. With this in mind we encourage children to develop their skills by reading daily in school and at home. To support them in this we have a wide range of wonderful reading materials that are continually updated. We have linked their perseverance to a whole school reward system called ‘The Reading Challenge’.

 

The first award you can receive is the 'Super Cool Reader Award', then you move on to the 'Amazingly Wicked Award', lastly you can receive the 'Mind Blowingly Brilliant Award'. In Key Stage 1 you must choose and read 4 books from the attached list. Year 3 need to read 4 books, Year 4 need to read 5 books, Year 5 need to read 6 books and Year 6 have to read 7 books.

 

 If you have the stamina to become ‘Mind Blowingly Brilliant’, you will be sent on a ‘Mission Impossible’ and possibly even asked to climb ‘The Perilous Pyramid’.
