School Meals

Healthy Schools

We are very proud of our National Healthy School status. As part of this standard we encourage all children to eat healthily

Our school meals are provided by Caterlink, and are cooked freshly onsite. An emphasis is placed on healthy food choices  and their award winning menus and the quality of the ingredients they use are all planned to comply with the Government’s Nutrient and Food Based Standards . The school operates a red, green & blue system which enables all children to receive the meal of their choice each day.

Children may also bring in their own packed lunch from home. For lots of useful ideas and advice on packing a healthy lunchbox for your child, please have a look at the Public Health Agency leaflet, 'Are you packing a healthy lunch?' available to download here. Public Health Healthier Lunch Boxes

The school operates a healthy snack policy at breaktime. Children in Key Stage One are given a piece of fruit each day as part of our involvement in the National Fruit Scheme. Parents of children in Key Stage 2 may purchase daily fruit at 50p per week. All children in the school are entitled to buy milk to drink at breaktime. Please contact Cool Milk at school at PO Box 994 Lincoln, LN5GS or log on their website to for further information.

Children are encouraged to drink water regularly through the day. There is a water machine available throughout the day, Children are encouraged to purchase a school water bottle for £1.50 or a replacement lid for 80p from the school office. This may be kept on their desk and filled up at breaktime and lunchtime

All children from Reception to Year 2 are entitled to receive a ‘Universal Free School Meal’ each day.  Families may also be eligible for their children in all Key Stages to receive a free school meal as a result of their circumstances.
